Frontier when you must. Local for the rest.
The Problem

The market is built to rent you intelligence, not to help you own it.

The default path is a frontier API. It is easy to start, it meters you by the token, and it quietly sends your data out of the building on every call. For a demo, that is fine. For the bulk of real work, it is an expense that never ends and a dependency you did not choose.

What is underserved is the other path. Owning the stack. Open-weight models on your own hardware, with the memory, training, and evaluation around them. This briefing is a working blueprint for that path, and for knowing the thin slice of work that still belongs on the frontier.

The Briefing

Eleven slides. Here is what they answer.

01Which workloads actually need the frontier, and which do not?
02What does owning the stack actually require?
03How do you prove a small model holds up on your hardware?
04Where should your memory and your data live?
05What is the one move to start with on Monday?

The answers are in the presentation above. Play the briefing, about six minutes.
