Three challenges to complete this week

Write your AI business case for one specific initiative. Choose the AI initiative that is most frequently discussed in your organization but has never had a formal business case written. Apply the four-component framework from Module 1: (a) define the problem with a measurable current state, (b) write the value hypothesis with estimated impact on one of the four value types, (c) build a cost model across all five cost categories from Module 6 including the ones most organizations miss, and (d) write a risk register with at least one entry from each of the four risk categories from Module 4. Your output should be a single document no longer than three pages that you could present to your CFO in a 20-minute slot. If you cannot complete this in three pages, the problem is not yet specific enough.

Run a governance gap analysis on your highest-risk AI system. Identify the AI system your organization currently uses that has the highest potential for harm if it fails or is misused. Apply the governance maturity checklist from Module 3: Does a model inventory entry exist for it? Has an impact assessment been completed? Is there active monitoring for drift and output quality? Is there a documented incident response plan? For each missing pillar, write one sentence describing what it would take to add it. Your output is a half-page gap analysis with a prioritized list of the three governance controls to add first, based on risk severity and implementation cost.

Build your AI transformation roadmap for the next 12 months. Using the four-stage adoption model from Module 5, assess where your organization sits today with evidence. Then define what moving to the next stage requires across four dimensions: executive sponsorship, data infrastructure, AI talent, and change management capacity. For each dimension, identify the single highest-leverage action you could take in the next 90 days. Your output is a 12-month roadmap with 4 quarterly milestones, each milestone tied to one of the four dimensions. The roadmap should be specific enough that a new executive joining your team in three months could immediately understand what has been done and what is next.
